So, this is fascinating… now I cannot verify its total veracity, but I’m pretty certain that similar techniques are used… for example Religion uses a similar technique; they fill a person with cognitive dissonance and keep it from exploding by wrapping it up in ‘faith’.
It’s also like bootcamp. First you break a person down into nothing, then you rebuild them back the way you want them.
Now with religion, their main tool is cognitive dissonance… and their provided ‘faith’ and ‘support’ keeps the unstable mess from exploding, at the cost of making a person utterly dependent on them.
The longer a person depends upon that faith construct, the more the cognitive deficit called the sunk cost fallacy kicks in… for example after wasting half your life on a false religion, you’d be loath to cut bonds with it, due to the already paid ‘sunk cost’.
This makes it a self-reinforcing ‘spell’ that the victim powers themselves.
UFO and spiritual mania control systems use similar techniques.
