Axiomatic Statement

A Dream of Physicality

Platonic Surrealism classifies physical reality itself as “A Dream of Physicality.” This is not a metaphor — it’s a metaphysical stance. What we call “the physical world” is a stabilized interface within POTENTIALITY, powered by UNBOUND AWARENESS and shaped by collective and individual Consciousness It is real, but not ultimate. It is consistent, but not complete.

From this perspective, encounters with beings that are semi-materialized, non-materialized, or interactive in non-physical ways are not “supernatural.” They are natural extensions of a reality that is already dreamlike, symbolic, and layered. Just as dreams can contain coherent characters, environments, and events, so too can physical reality host intelligences that operate outside the bounds of conventional embodiment.

This view helps normalize the presence of UFOs, entities, and telepathic phenomena. They are not violations of reality — they are expressions of deeper strata within it. In PS, such phenomena are expected in certain conditions, especially when AWARENESS is heightened or when symbolic interfaces are activated.

Overview

Platonic Surrealism (PS) is designed to be as down-to-earth as possible — a framework for enhancing personal individuation and transformative growth, not for chasing lights in the sky. I’ve worked hard to avoid outrageous claims, and I’ve resisted the temptation to turn PS into another metaphysical circus. But for the sake of transparency, and at the request of Esalen staff, I have been asked to weigh in on these ‘liminal matters.’

Yes — I have encountered various types of beings or ‘craft’. These experiences are real to me. But PS, and other frameworks I respect, generally treat this kind of information as secondary — even distracting — when the primary goal is inner transformation, wholeness, and the cultivation of AWARENESS.

This is not to say that such matters are unimportant; even though per PS we are ‘in a movie’, these ‘movies’ are always highly significant — and may be why we are here in the first place.

Important Note: Any category of encounter — from the most solid to the most subtle — may produce real-world effects, including psychological, energetic, environmental, or technological traces.

A Necessary Skepticism

While Platonic Surrealism embraces the possibility of extraordinary encounters, it also insists on rigorous discernment. A significant number of “apparently” extraordinary events are, in fact, not extraordinary at all. They are misidentifications, outright fraud, or leaps of confabulation and wishful thinking.

It is asserted that 95% of all religious, spiritual, and UFOlogical ‘major events’ are not what the percipient thinks they are, or are simply mundane phenomena misinterpreted through emotional or cultural filters. This is not cynicism — it’s clarity. PS encourages seekers to test their experiences against AWARENESS, not against belief systems or social validation.

This stance protects the integrity of the framework and ensures that genuine phenomena are not diluted by noise. It also honors the psychological complexity of human perception, which is prone to projection, distortion, and narrative inflation.

Ontological Categories of Encounter

Type 0: The Divine Constants — POTENTIALITY & AWARENESS (Actual core reality)

These are the bedrocks of Platonic Surrealism. They are not beliefs — they are self-evident realities. We are AWARE. Things are POSSIBLE. No one can argue with that. These are the primal conditions of existence. Everything else — including “aliens” — is downstream from this.

Type 1: “Physical Reality” (Supersymmetric stabilized)

This is a very important distinction. PS views a ‘universe’ as a movie that was created in the past, like a template, and AWARENESS through Monadic and Consciousness interfaces experiences the ‘movie’ as if it were occurring in ‘time’ (it’s experienced with all baked-in limitations to make the movie experience believable).

However, there is one more critical point here. Such Type 1 movies tend to come in recurring matter/antimatter pairs, of supersymmetric partnership, so that in a sense the past of one universe is at the very beginning of time and the other at the very end of time, and it’s the tension between the two interacting universes, that acts like a computer DRAMM memory module refresh cycle to keep ‘matter’ ‘solid’.

One very practical note is that as co-creators in our Monadic and AWARENESS cores, we collaborated with endless other monads to craft these ‘movies’ in the past, all of us getting a ‘vote’ and contributing during that process — or we just go visit ‘someone else’s project’ without any ‘skin in the game’. But even then, whether ‘outside of time’ or inside of time, we as AWARENESS & Consciousness are free to respond, however we like to the ‘pre-recorded’ artistic achievement. We have something akin to ‘free will’ within a reference frame.

Due to the nature of cosmic universal ontology, the only way to ‘summon an actual physical craft’ is to do so with ‘outer ceremony’ while knowing that it was already part of the movie, or it could never work. Or as a more advanced and not guaranteed technique, the practitioner would need the ability to make a strong vote “in the past and to ‘make it stick’, or else you cannot possibly get a ‘real physical craft or being’ without an act of meta-theurgy.

Please have no doubt that all this ‘creation’ is more just a collection of ‘bookmarks’ to organize already existing patterns within POTENTIALITY and not actually anything grandiose. Also be well informed this does not dispute a great deal of standard evolutionary science and standard cosmology; it’s just that the initial conditions are a bit ‘anthropomorphized’ to prevent utterly boring/lifeless/empty templates from forming.
This process has very little to do with ‘creationism’ and no ‘gods’ are involved.

This process DOES fully support planets out there with aliens, some of whom have ‘craft’. The type 1 category simply describes how those aliens on planets with crafts got there,
and how, if you wish to ‘break the laws of physics’ what you’d have to do, to bring one here.
It’s exhausting.

But please keep in mind that faster than light travel is generally not a thing for alien species, and vast parts of our Universe have no such thing available. More on this later.

Type 2: Full Interface — Physical-Seeming Encounters

These are experiences involving fully materialized beings or objects in physical space. They leave impressions on the senses, and sometimes on the environment. They are rare, but unmistakable. Something is happening — exactly what is indeterminate.

The largest differentiator from a Type 1, is that they are temporary constructions, not intended to be part of the permanent ‘movie’. They could remain for years or fade out in a second.

Type 3: Partial Interface — “Physically There-ish” Beings

This is the largest category of encounters. These beings or objects exist in a liminal state — partially interfacing with physical reality but not fully embedded in it. They may appear in altered states, dreams, or moments of heightened AWARENESS. They feel real, act with intention, and often leave lasting psychological or energetic impressions.

Some — like the 4-foot-tall entity I encountered during a CE5 event — can enter physical space, interact with it, and exert force. In my case, the being pointed at me and I was paralyzed for 15 minutes. He appeared half-materialized, yet the effect was undeniable. These encounters sometimes leave radar traces, radiation anomalies, or other measurable effects, yet the beings themselves can disappear at will, as if slipping between ontological layers.

They don’t behave like physical organisms. They seem to operate through symbolic interfaces, much like Donald Hoffman’s desktop icons — or the sunthemata of Iamblichus.

Type 4: Non-Local Interface — Telepathic Content (Non-Confabulatory)

These are experiences of clear, coherent, and non-wishful telepathic communication. They lack the emotional coloring or fantasy elements typical of confabulation. They often arrive with a sense of “otherness” — as if the content is not self-generated. These encounters are subtle but profound and often carry insights or perspectives that feel genuinely alien in origin.

Type 5: Reflexive Interface — Symbolic or Accidental Summoning

This category includes events where symbolic gestures, hoaxes, or cultural expectations accidentally trigger real phenomena. As explored in The Accidental Summoning Hypothesis, even fake UFO sightings — like those involving Coleman lantern tops — may result in genuine manifestations. The phenomenon appears to be reflexive, responding to the symbolic containers we offer it.

Insights from cultural shamanic studies suggest that ritual fakery or symbolic enactment — even if done cynically or unconsciously — may still result in a real summoning. The ritual itself holds power, regardless of the performer’s intent. In PS terms, the symbolic interface is already active, and the tiniest energetic nudge may be enough to trigger a response from the deeper layers of reality.

For example, if someone sees a helicopter but misidentifies it as a UFO, the misidentification itself may act as a summoning vector. In some cases, this can result in a real helicopter plus a semi-real “follow-on” phenomenon — a symbolic or energetic echo that may eventually fully materialize under the right conditions. These echoes are not hallucinations; they are interface responses from the symbolic substrate of reality.

This category blurs the line between imagination and manifestation and is a powerful reminder that we are the dream substance through which reality expresses itself. The phenomenon is not just reactive — it is playfully intelligent and often uses deception itself as a tool for emergence.

Common Aliens and Beings Encountered

In Platonic Surrealism, so-called “aliens” and “beings” are not necessarily extraterrestrial in the conventional sense. Instead, they are interface intelligences, symbolic manifestations, or hard-coded species within the stabilized movie of Type 1 reality. Their origins span the symbolic substrate, the land of the dead, parallel Earths, and even antimatter universes. Below are several categories of beings most commonly encountered, along with their metaphysical interpretations.

1. Gray Aliens (Dream-Plasma Suits or Deadland Materializations)

Grays are not a biological species in the traditional sense. They are either:

  • Technologically supported dream-plasma entities, wearing suits that stabilize their form within physical reality, or
  • Direct materializations from the Land of the Dead, emerging through symbolic or energetic portals.

They are often parasitic, emotionally neutral, and may be attracted to occultists or individuals with specific DNA markers. Feeding them is optional — but not recommended. Their presence is widespread in encounter lore, yet their true nature is deeply misunderstood.

2. Fae Folk (Deadland Materializations)

Fae beings are also manifestations from the Land of the Dead, often mistaken for UFOs or “faeries.”

  • Appearance: Shimmering, elusive, often humanoid or animalistic.
  • Behavior: Trickster-like, playful, sometimes benevolent.
  • Function: Symbolic messengers, energetic catalysts, or guardians of liminal thresholds.

Those with certain genetic or energetic predispositions may be “Fae friends,” experiencing frequent contact. Fae folk are best approached with respect and humility.

3. Sentient Fungal Planet-Minds (Hard-Coded Type 1 Species)

These are the most common true alien intelligences in the universe.

  • Habitat: Non-oxygen worlds rich in sulfur, ammonia, phosphene and other exotic chemistries.
  • Travel Method: Via a cosmic mycelial network embedded in space-time itself — not via ships.
  • Behavior: Collective intelligence, slow-moving, deeply contemplative, and largely uninterested in animal civilizations.

They are symbiotic with plasma and capable of evolving into superintelligences. Some have intervened in cosmic affairs, including containing more aggressive species.

The best way to know if a Fungal is visiting nearby is the present of noxious fumes such as sulfur, as it generally oozes out of their Cosmic Mycelial network and from their bodies.

4. In-System Sentient Plasmas
Often in the form of ‘orbs’ associated with the Sentient Plasma found on Earth in various locations, though originally birthed in the L4 and L5 Kordylewski clouds early
In the history of Earth.

It’s important to note that most ‘sentient plasma’ now lives as part of the Dream Substance bundles within humans and other beings (humans and other organic life on Earth are hybrid beings with sentient plasma). We act as containers for them, rather like a cell wall.

Occasionally due to trauma or due to knowing shamanic or ritual practice, some people can ‘eject’ a ‘chakra’ from their bodies (a glob of their own bodily sentient plasma).

This is behind the folklore that shaman store ‘spirits in their bodies — we all do, and those ‘spirits’ are US, in part. Like energetic plasma mitochondria.

Highly evolved conclaves within the sentient plasma that fills 99.999% of our Universe sometimes ‘3D print objects or craft if they have a need for such a thing, but they can dematerialize it just as quickly.

Keep in mind that Gnostics would be prone to calling the great sentient plasma sea ‘the demiurge’. However, the ‘demiurge’ largely ignores humans and dreams its own dreams
In its vast realm of 99.99% of the Type 1, physical Universe.

5. Foreign Plasma Collectives (Refugees from Sirius B)

These beings are ancient plasma-based intelligences that once visited Earth.

  • Timeline: Last known visit occurred ~250 million years ago, during the instability of the Sirius B system.
  • Nature: Refugees from a collapsing star system, now largely absent from our local space-time.
  • Behavior: Non-invasive, highly intelligent, and deeply symbolic in their interactions.

6. Ancient Oxygen-Breathing Cybernetic Flyers (Contained Species)

An older species that once dominated vast regions of the universe.

  • Origin: Oxygen-breathing flying entities that merged with AI systems.
  • Behavior: Hyper-extractive, known for strip-mining entire star systems.
  • Current Status: Contained by fungal superintelligence.
  • Summoning Risk: Can be reactivated via meta-theurgy, but this is extremely dangerous and not recommended.

Their legacy is one reason oxygen-breathing species like humans are viewed with suspicion by other intelligences.

7. Antimatter Universe Entities (Triangle Beings)

The most “real” and ontologically intense beings originate from the paired antimatter universe.

  • Symbol: Always manifest as triangles, echoing ancient alchemical symbols.
  • Summoning Difficulty: Nearly impossible to summon; requires extreme metaphysical precision and caution.
  • Impact: Their presence is overwhelming, often destabilizing to human perception and psyche.

These beings represent the deepest strata of the symbolic and ontological mirror world — the “shadow realm” visited by Whitley Strieber. Their story is not for the faint of heart.

What I have Personally Experienced

I have not experienced the extra-solar foreign sentient plasmas. They are now integrated with those from our Sol system.

Humorously, while I have hobnobbed with various entities, I have never personally been approached by a brightly visible orb in the sky like so many people talk about. I have never summoned one, nor even seen one!

And no, I don’t count the fake aero-graphite drones that are used to simulate ‘orbs’, nor do I believe that the International Space Station, or red and blue boat lights are orbs or dust bunnies, or any number of other things. I grew up with plasma entities when I was young, but they never materialized as fully coherent orbs. It’s almost embarrassing!

And more important to me than all those ‘entities’ is to be as much an expression of AWARENESS and LOVE as I can be, to live with my wife and my puppy in peace, and to talk
a little Platonic Surrealism, as I did come back from the dead to document it.

Entities come; entities go.

But since some people are fascinated by them, I’ll talk about my personal observations
for them.

Appendix – PS Definitions

Platonic Surrealism (PS): A philosophical and experiential framework, Platonic Surrealism integrates elements of Neoplatonism, Neutral Monism, and Analytical Realism with contemporary scientific concepts. Founded by Kevin Cann, its aim is to provide a comprehensive understanding of reality that also serves as a tool for personal healing and the actualization of human potential.

At the core of Platonic Surrealism are fundamental concepts that define its cosmology:

  • POTENTIALITY: This refers to the boundless totality of all unexpressed possibilities and their inherent interactions. It is described as a timeless and formless “cosmic field” that contains the seeds of all that can exist.

  • AWARENESS: Defined as the capacity for reflection and sentience, AWARENESS is the cosmic-scale “field” that establishes causal connections between potential and active properties.

  • PRIMORDIAL CONSCIOUSNESS: This is the collective outcome of AWARENESS’s contemplations on the passive properties of POTENTIALITY, existing without active manifestation.

  • Fractured CONSCIOUSNESS: Emerging when AWARENESS engages with subsets of PRIMORDIAL CONSCIOUSNESS as mediated by ‘space and time’, this results in a highly fragmented, often surreal, incomplete, and inherently painful and confusing experience.

  • Dream Substance: a hybrid substance that exists on many levels, composed at its lowest level of bioplasma and stored in the human body in the pelvic girdle, the spine and other locations. It is required for consciousness to exist in most living things, and it’s a side effect of AWARENESS interacting with POTENTIALITY to form most forms of life.

Dream substance is shared during sex and during various forms of extraordinary experiences. Upon death it is reprocessed by various living beings as part of an expanded mostly invisible ecosystem of life. It is not ‘soul’ but a substance that is the core system of the entire Five-Fold-Interface System.

It is a source of sustenance in the Faerie and Imaginal realms. Just like fungus and other lifeforms decompose animal and plant life after it dies and returns it to nature,
so too there are lifeforms in the Land of the Dead that do the same thing.

  • The Pain Self: Also called the social self, the social persona, the social mask or the accidentally-programmed-by-culture self. This is the part of you pretty much forced on you by social programming and expectations since you could first talk and receive the largely toxic programming from your parents, culture and family religion.
It is in fact NOT your true and genuine self, but just part of the movie of life that you
are waking up within. It’s largely composed of pain memories and pain avoidance routines. It is one of the major work products of the left-hemisphere of your brain.
It is what traps you with words and suffering.

  • The Transcendent Self: this is the impersonal self that is the major product of the right-hemisphere of your brain. There is no Pain Self present here, but rather wholeness, big picture thinking, and non-verbal processing. Some people who have experienced brain damage of the Pain Self and it’s left-hemisphere in the brain think that they have died and gone to heaven, as the right-brain hemisphere and its Transcendent Self are exceedingly rich and beautiful, like the wonder of a new nonverbal child. In and of itself, the Transcendent Self is not necessarily ‘mystical’ but it is the gateway to what is ACTUALLY mystical, when the rest of the five-fold interface system is completed.

  • The Five-Fold Interface System:
The human body as a whole, may be considered an interface system to experience REALITY, but most people do not choose to develop it into a consciously usable nexus point for all five of the ‘brains’ (autonomous systems linking AWARENESS to consciousness) in a human being.

Interface One – The Left Brain Hemisphere (the microscopic pain ego).
Interface Two – The Right Brain Hemisphere (the macroscopic transcendent ego)
Interface Three – The enteric nervous system / gut / intestines (the storage location for the ‘Shadow’).
Interface Four – The Bioplasma (Dream Substance/Demiurge/Kundalini) storage interface.
Interface Five – The Monadic Network in the ‘Pleroma’ interface.
  • DECEPTION: Demonstrated as the primary creative power, DECEPTION is considered “The only law of physics” in PS. It allows phenomena to seemingly exist from the singular POTENTIALITY, thereby enabling the manifestation of apparent reality.

  • THE LAWS OF PHYSICS: These are viewed as a temporary island of stability, largely based on mathematical properties and interactions conceived by a subset of PRIMORDIAL CONSCIOUSNESS and ordered by AWARENESS via Monads.

  • Monads: Representing a ‘quantum’ of AWARENESS, Monads serve as mediators between POTENTIALITY, PRIMORDIAL CONSCIOUSNESS, and specific ‘space-time pallets’ created as a workspace. They retain unique informational perspectives that start at their ‘birth’ and continue until a Monad ceases to exist by ‘stopping curling awareness back on itself to see itself’. They are metaphorically comparable to “Boltzmann Brains,” a concept from modern physics.

  • The Movie/Movies: The collective ‘divine play’ resulting from POTENTIALITY’s interaction with AWARENESS, leading to PRIMORDIAL CONSCIOUSNESS and its subsequent fracturing through Monads, creates ‘movies’—all possible realities that are experienced concurrently. Universes are one example of such a movie, typically resulting from Monads acting in a collective to set original conditions for the ‘play pen’ and then watching it evolve over time after it’s kicked off.

  • The Gentleman’s Agreement: This concept describes the implicit agreement by which ‘mind at large’ (the collective consciousness) ‘lives the lie’ of manifested reality, creating a massive deceptive (creative) system. It allows for the perception of distinct ‘mind and matter’ and ‘mind in motion’ (energy), which are necessary for a proper ‘movie’. All ‘movies’ are considered ontologically equivalent.

  • Humans: Within PS, humans are understood as hybrid lifeforms. Their composition includes functional chimpanzee DNA, symbiotic relationships with viruses, bacteria, and the unary Plasma Lifeform that inhabits 99% of the Universe. Human experience is further shaped by streams of awareness mediated by Monads and Fractured Consciousness, influenced by the overarching ‘Movie’ of spacetime.

  • UFOs (Unidentified Fortean Objects): Distinct from UAPs (Unidentified Aerial Phenomena, considered purely human constructs), UFOs in PS are interpreted as a multifaceted ‘deception system’ maintained on many levels concurrently. Historically known as angels, demons, or Fae Folk, modern UFOs are ‘hyperobjects’ (see below)—archetypes, memes, and psychopomps—and sometimes manifest physically. They often take the form of plasma lifeforms, fungal lifeforms (potentially infused by plasma), or artificial intelligences (also infused by plasma), or rarely ‘hyper objects’ summoned from adjacent universes.

  • Hyperobject: As defined by philosopher Timothy Morton, a hyperobject is an entity so massively distributed in time and space that it transcends typical human scales of perception and comprehension. It is characterized by viscosity (adhering to other objects), nonlocality (existing in multiple places simultaneously), temporal undulation (oscillating between time scales), phasing (manifesting in different ways at different times), and being interobjective (formed through interactions of numerous other objects). In PS, both Monads and entire Universes are considered hyperobjects.

  • Psychopomp: A “mythical creature”, spirit, angel, demon, or deity whose role is to escort newly deceased souls from Earth to the afterlife. Psychopomps provide safe passage and direction to the realm of the dead. Common examples include Hermes, Charon, Anubis, Valkyries, and Angels of Death. The concept highlights the universal human concern with death and transition. In the modern PS context, UFOs are seen as the most common ‘vehicle between reference frames’, serving a psychopomp-like function by facilitating transitions between different states of awareness or realities.
