Traditions brought us part of the way; it’s now time to take the next ten steps, all of which are now possible.
Bits here and there are applicable to what’s important, but there is so much dead weight and cultural corruption.
Now mind you, even a pretty damaged system can sometimes be EXACTLY what someone needs, so if you are
part of a system that really works for you, then BLESS YOU.
Hopefully you don’t have a toxic, insane killer for a deity, that you mostly ignore, for the sake of the fellowship and
positive aspects of the faith.
Platonic Surrealism has little to do with faith, and nothing to do with any of the human-created gods.
But again, some of the traditions have beautiful bits in them and especially some systems such as Zen, Trika
Shaivism and a few others have very impressive little bits.
Likewise, most human philosophical systems do a great job of explaining the mess of postmodernism, and
the apparent absurdity of reality in general, but they don’t give you much tool-wise to deal with any of that.
If you are an atheist or agnostic, that is ‘freeing’, but a very lonely state. There’s a big hole, and it is regularly
accepted as valid, even by pure atheists, that humans evolved to desire religion.
Platonic Surrealism doesn’t find much value in old systems, not desiring to be unrespectful, and in fact
some whom came before us were GIANTS, and we stand on their shoulders. But their systems as a whole
don’t work.
It’s just that simple.
We need to do better.
