Alex O’Connor is a lovely person these days, now that he’s moved away from pure ‘new atheism’.
This video encapsulates the problem with toxic god concepts.
No human ever to live has ‘met god’, but only ‘met the god concepts’ stuck in their head by culture.
People confuse the two.
Now, ‘meeting the Larger Life’ non-verbally…. yes that is a thing, but that is the province of philosophy, metaphysics and spirituality, not religion. Religion tends to be about defending toxic god concepts virally stuck in people’s minds, victimizing them.
