I was emailing a friend of mine, who is having the common issue, when one is on the spiritual path, of interacting with ‘beings’ and seeing things in terms of light and dark.
I want to share what I told him here. (man, I’m So lazy, I promise I will continue to formalize this, LOL).
“I had the same challenge, and for me personally (I can’t speak to anyone else’s experience or where they are executing from in POTENTIALITY), a few things made all the difference In the world; saved my life and sanity and stabilized me, and that’s what I call
“Platonic Surrealism”.
The core problem, is that by believing in entities you give them form.
Now, am I saying that beings don’t exist without belief?
Not at all. Other parallel dreams (worlds) believe in them too, so even if we don’t ‘actualize beings’ other people, ‘here’ and ‘elsewhere’ actualize them. Yes that means
that ‘Christians’ create the demons and angels, the UFO believers create the UFOs,
etc. Again, not saying that there isn’t a core thing that is often there, but it’s more a
neutral aspect of REALITY than anything sinister. Humans and similar beings are what
create ‘good’ and ‘evil’. Behind all of that is NATURE.
In Platonic Surrealism you learn that ALL movies are real, but all are subjective.
It goes in these stages:
1. You realize that much of your life is about ‘hiding’ in ‘form’.
2. You learn to disengage from form (like Zen or nondualism)
3. Then you see that You and the ‘dream beings’ are ontologically equivalent.
You gain a certain freedom from ‘them’ and ‘yourself’.
4. Then you learn, that by ‘escaping’ ‘form’, you have given yourself a mental
Disorder, by enforcing that schism. That you have to confront the ‘world’
And ALL the dreams, and not run away from it. Hell, not even the Buddha
Ever got that far… It’s a new thing for humans.
5. You come to learn that you are both AWARENESS AND POTENTIALITY.
After all that, you just PLAY, as there is nothing else to do.
The hiding of your true self in form is over. The seeking of your true self is over.
You have caught yourself. So PLAY is all that there is.
