A new friend was asking me about the velvety darkness; here is my response:
” I remember the ‘cosmic womb’, the velvety darkness.
It was where I was born, as a monad, in the comforting darkness.
Then there’s the ‘expulsion phase’, only, there’s no ‘external force’ that expels one
like some gnostic evil Jehovah.
It’s the restlessness. Once you embrace it, you get thrown into the cacophony
of infinite lights; the agony of birth; and you bounce off all the other newborn
monads, and none of the more ‘experienced old hands’ help you; in agony
you flee into matter, as the closest numbing agent available and thus the
journey begins. If you want to be a well-formed ‘baby Aeon’, you have to take
the hero’s journey, the shaman’s journey alone; or else if you were pried from the
cocoon early, or were treated like a toddler, you’d never develop. Pain is often
the best teacher.”
