Back in early 2022, Kevin Cann contacted the scholar of religion and author Dr. Jeffrey J. Kripal, with an offer to collaborate on issues regarding trauma and mystical experience. Jeff accepted the offer, and that was the beginning of a true collaborative friendship, which soon included the request to write the major content of Chapter 3 in his 2024 book: How to Think Impossibly: About Souls, UFOs, Time, Belief, and Everything Else, University of Chicago Press, 2024. (HTTI).
Platonic Surrealism was “remembered” as Kevin would say, and while the sum total of it has always seemed to be complete and not needing any development, in humble honesty, transferring the memory to the conscious rational mind, so that it could be documented, has been a daunting task, as really Platonic Surrealism (PS) is a framework of everything (FOE) with useful (if not entirely true, I mean, what is absolutely true?) elements in a number of fields of study.
Ultimately such an undertaking might take many fingers in the cooking pot; as really nothing of value is created by a single person, at least not in it’s total breadth and detail.
“Jeff and Kev” enjoy giving seminars and interviews on HTTI, either as a team or singly.
Jeff being exceptional, but “Neurotpical” and Kevin being a high-functioning autistic has made for a most interesting and fruitful collaboration.
