Would Jesus have approved of Platonic Surrealism? Now let’s not discuss whether Jesus actually existed or not, there is no discernable proof that he ever did. But whether he did or did not exist, he certainly does exist SOMEWHERE and SOMEWHEN, within POTENTIALITY, so let’s not dissect that scholarly controversy. Let’s simply focus on a few verses reputed to have been said by Jesus.

Quote 1
Luke 9:49-50

“…John answered, ‘Master, we saw someone casting out demons in Your name, and we forbade him because he does not follow with us.’ But Jesus said to him, ‘Do not forbid him, for he who is not against us is for us.'”

Platonic Surrealism recognizes that all properties and all interaction sets between those properties exist. So, PS is certainly not ‘against’ any living thing, teacher, guru or deity. They are all a subset executing at level 3 (POTENTIALITY is level 1, AWARENESS is level 2).

Quote 2

Luke 17:20-21

Jesus said:

“The kingdom of God does not come with observation; nor will they say, ‘See here!’ or ‘See there!’ For indeed, the kingdom of God is within you.”

This is pure Platonic Surrealism, though it is technically more accurate to say that EVERYTHING ‘exists and executes within’ POTENTIALITY.

Quote 3

Mark 4:10-12 (NKJV)

“10 But when He was alone, those around Him with the twelve asked Him about the parable.

11 And He said to them, “To you it has been given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God; but to those who are outside, all things come in parables.”

12 “so that ‘seeing they may see and not perceive, and hearing they may hear and not understand; lest they should turn and their sins be forgiven them.'”

It’s obvious that Jesus wasn’t much for religion, but that the truth of things was hidden in plain sight. That’s exactly what Platonic Surrealism says.

Quote 4

Luke 23-40:43

“The Thief’s Plea

42 Then he said to Jesus, “Lord, remember me when You come into Your kingdom.”

Jesus’ Response

43 And Jesus said to him, “Assuredly, I say to you, today you will be with Me in Paradise.”

The thief was referring to the rumor that Jesus might be a messiah (messiah’s are intended to bring about a physical
kingdom on the Earth for the Jews). But despite the fact he was confused, Jesus was correct. There was no need for the thief to recite a magic spell or faith statement, no repentance or need for salvation, but the simple statement that the thief was already in paradise (Samsara and Nirvana are one).

Platonic Surrealism agrees with Jesus here; ‘Paradise’ is right here, right now.

Summary

In the Synoptic Gospels (Mathew, Mark, Luke) Jesus never claimed to be God, though he certainly could have; his humility was wonderful. We are ALL ‘children of POTENTIALITY and AWARENESS’ with complete ontological equivalence with anything else which exists. Jesus was clearly very open to how everyone was ‘ONE’ (that’s what a mystic like Jesus would explain with words like ‘with me in Paradise”, and people who had a completely different path from his was also fully accepted, so long as the path leads to the same place (‘the ultimate’, POTENTIALITY and AWARENESS).

Jesus may not have been a middle Platonist like the Apostle Paul was, but it’s obvious he lived in what Platonic Surrealism calls ‘The Trace State”.

Now modern Christianity is not a recognizable form of anything that Jesus lived or believed, but Jesus himself? He lived in the same sort of place as Platonic Surrealism does.
